Who We Are
Hunter Margolf has been designing interior and exterior spaces with living forms—whether fish or flora—for many years. With degrees from Rhode Island School of Design and Cranbrook Academy in Michigan augmenting his natural abilities in design, he creates visually delightful spaces that are both imaginative and sturdy. The spaces relate to the surroundings, the lifestyles of the homeowners, and the interstitial transitions between home and garden.
Hunter brings his abilities as a sculptor and a painter—as well as an industrial designer—to his landscape work, with an extraordinary affinity for color, form, and variety. Time after time, he has taken on challenging assignments and worked magical solutions, always working with the native species at hand to create naturalistic environments.
Considerations include your pets and how they might interact with the grounds (issues of safety and maintenance), the wildlife in the area and their impact on your garden spaces, framing visually pleasing vistas, and screening unattractive views. Hunter describes the challenge as “dealing with the seen as well as the unseen” and coming up with solutions that are evocative of the past, yet anticipatory of the future.
